If you find that the damper on you Range Hood is remaining open even when the unit is not being used, this could be a sign that the damper may need replacing or was installed incorrectly.
What is a damper? A damper is designed to close the exhaust vent when the unit is not being used to protect from external elements and when the unit is running, the damper will open to allow proper exhaust.
How can you tell it is open? You can tell the damper is open when not in use as you will either see outside condensation coming inside of the unit/home or you will feel a stiff breeze coming through the unit.
Troubleshooting: If you find that the damper is open when the Range Hood is not running, please remove the blower assembly to gain access to the damper. Once you have access to the damper, try to rotate the damper. If the it rotates freely, be sure that the unit is installed correctly and positioned appropriately as there does not appear to be a defect with the damper.
If the damper does not rotate, it may be defective and we will ask that you contact our Support Heroes at service2@airkinglimited.com and we will look into he options for replacing the defective part.
