We do a great job of using UV resistant plastic in their construction of their products. Unfortunately, the plastic is resistant to UV rays but not immune to them. This means that a product, left in direct sunlight, or exposed to a UV light for an extended period of time can begin to see the plastic of the fan begin to yellow.
If plastic has been affected by ultraviolet rays, you may notice:
- a chalky appearance
- the component surface becoming brittle
- a yellow color change on the surface of the material
There is no reversing this once the change is done, and in most cases this will not affect the function of the unit. This is not considered a defect with the product, as this is the plastic dye coloring being dulled by the UV light exposure.
