It is very common for a brand new fan to have a new unit smell. Similar to when purchasing a new car, there is a non-toxic odor that may accompany the fan. As the fan runs, the smell should dissipate. It is important to mention that Lasko complies with all required safety testing to ensure our products meet or exceed these expectations. If you find the smell to be strong, please use the item in a well-ventilated room to allow for the odor to be removed more quickly. I have contacted support and yes they responded with a try this and get back with us. After trying what was suggested I replied to the original response from them and they still haven’t got back with me. I’m starting to feel like I’m being avoided.
