Unable to attach/tighten the Plastic Nut (aka Guard Nut) onto the motor of a pedestal fan

First and foremost, please be sure that you have aligned the groove on the rear grill with the groove of the motor assembly. If the grill is not aligned, and pressed all of the way into the motor, the threads for the plastic nut will not be aligned. 

Once that is assembled correctly, align the threads for the plastic nut with the threads for the motor housing that is circular in shows around the motor pin, turning clock-wise tighten until snug. Be sure not to over-tighten
