How does the Motor sit on the Pole Assembly for a Pedestal Fan?

The assembly of the pedestal fan is one that allows doe simple disassembly when done using the fan for the season. To assembly the motor onto the pole, simply push the pole into the motor and twists it which will hold into place. There is no clicking or locking mechanism.

 

Please note that the screw inside of the motor assembly pinches against the pole when it is slid into the motor housing. That will hold it in place., but it does not lock as these fans are designed to be easily disassembled. It is possible when moving this fan from one location to another, the pole may come out of the motor assembly. This is not a defect, but rather an intended design feature.
